South Jefferson Rescue Squad, Inc. will be sponsoring a blood pressure clinic on Saturday, June 27th, 2009. The Squad will be at Rod’s Big M, US Route 11, Adams from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The community is encouraged to stop by and have their blood pressure taken. This service is being provided free of charge. The American Heart Association states “nearly one in three U.S. adults has high blood pressure, but because there are no symptoms, nearly one-third of these people don't know they have it. In fact, many people have high blood pressure for years without knowing it. Uncontrolled high blood pressure can lead to stroke, heart attack, heart failure or kidney failure. This is why high blood pressure is often called the ‘silent killer’. The only way to tell if you have high blood pressure is to have your blood pressure checked."
If your organization would like to host a future clinic, please contact the Squad at 232-2624.
